A beloved family-owned hamburger restaurant in Lima turned to Vorys when the Ohio Department of Transportation took an 8-foot swath of land from the business to expand an adjacent road. The new highway adversely impacted 10 parking spaces and effectively robbed the restaurant of prime parking and resulting business. The state offered the business a mere $11,000 for the property. Vorys took the state to court.  After a three-day trial, the jury deliberated for a little more than two hours before deciding that the business owners were entitled to more money. The jury awarded the restaurant $300,000.Lima News
