We have assisted numerous developers in eminent domain matters. For example, we were was to obtain a settlement and project design modifications for an industrial park developer affected by the realignment of an existing roadway. Vorys was able to minimize the impact to the industrial park and negotiate a settlement for more than $325,000 initially offered by the county.
Our other experience on behalf of developers includes:
- Obtaining a jury verdict of over $1 million, several times above what ODOT offered, based upon the value of speculative development ground that the ODOT valued only as agricultural land.
- Currently representing real estate developers and real estate investment trusts to maximize recovery and minimize project's negative effects upon access, signage, visibility, and circuity of travel.
We also help developers in a wide variety of real estate disputes throughout the state of Ohio. We regularly represent clients litigating land use issues, in state and federal courts, in addition to appearing before city councils, boards of zoning appeals, planning and zoning commissions, and other administrative bodies of political subdivisions on land use matters. Our attorneys have been instrumental in advising trade associations and other clients in legislative matters affecting land use rights. To learn more, click here.
